The stirring energies of spring

As I take time for a break to enjoy my chickens, I feel the need to keep my nervous system regulated.

Sage (one of my laying hens) has gone through a "hard molt". This process involves her shedding the majority of her feathers. As they grow back, the quills (the base of the feather) cause her pain as they break through the skin. She has lost her confidence and zest for life. Her road to recovery resembles my life and many others.

As the world turns upside down, inside out and sideways, recovering our balance is more important than ever. Some days, Sage prefers to hide, this reminds me to recalibrate with quiet time and contemplation. I have found that Nature and wild spaces are the perfect surroundings to receive the answers to my questions.

I see so many brave individuals in my life (including Sage) who are taking one step forward even in the discomfort. I believe when we build trust and faith in something larger than us, we can see authentic beauty and move forward intuitively with gratitude and appreciation.

Labyrinth Update:

We finished planting the perennial lamb's ears that now defines the path in our Labyrinth. The energy of peace, calm, harmony and clarity now have a physical representation on the Rooted land. The heart shape design of the Labyrinth asks me to do my best to remain heart-centered, and to go deeper when my fears surface. Not to look away, but to understand the complexity of each of our experiences and how we are triggered by certain events (some beyond our control).

Compassion for myself, my chics and others (of all kinds) can be present when my fear subsides and I remember to breathe. Nature is inviting us to join her WiFi connection, for authentic truth to reveal itself in our lives. For me, it might involve listening to the goldfinches and woodpeckers at the feeders or noticing how my rhubarb seems to magically grow every day.

LIFE is amazing.

-Take good care-

Annette
