The arrival of new energy

As we end the month of June and enter July, I am understanding that we have completed the first half of 2026. July represents the beginning of the next six months and into (what I believe) more hopeful times.

Yesterday was the family reunion on my Mother's side. I often wonder what my ancestors think of the world today and how they would respond to the many changes taking place and the new family dynamics that we have formed. I would hope their wise responses would be from their hearts.

Many of the attendees at our gathering are retired, and I enjoyed the kind and generous way they shared some of their experience based knowledge. However, I was so energized and encouraged by the younger members. They had a playful aspect to them with a wisdom of their own. They were excited to help and participate in their own unique and confident way.

The summer heat and humidity helps to remind me of the many gifts it has for me, if I am mindful of my energy. I hope to appreciate my peaceful surroundings and entertain a few friends and family, outdoors. Especially because Canada Day (formerly Dominion Day) is tomorrow. The freedom that this day represents is very pronounced this year.

As a formal way of welcoming guests to the property, I have recently established a special area at the entrance of the farm. It has the beginning of a designated perennial garden supporting a sign "ROOTED".
