Harvesting and welcoming in the next chapter of the season.

What a month!!!!

August has been busy for Rooted. The Log Barn Studio and The Log Cabin are getting a facelift.

Staining is required every three to five years depending on the weather. Four years have passed since the last stain application and the logs are requesting protection from the elements.

This was my perfect excuse to buy a power washer. It worked beautifully to remove the loose surface stain and debris. Albert, a charming, handsome young man, has been manoeuvring ladders to be sure all parts of the logs are coated.

Harvest has begun, the botanicals are ready to be used in my floral arrangements and the fruits and vegetables are ready for making preserves.

In the garden, I have made a few changes this year. A special friend is making some large wooden tripods, so cucumbers, beans, peas, gourds and flowers can grow vertically with direct watering at the base of the structures. I hope this will make my watering more efficient for next year.

Fall is in the air and I am excited about my yearly pumpkin designs. I use a mixture of the Farm's product and artificial to create a decoration around the stem of the pumpkin...making a long lasting Fall centrepiece.

As the summer is winding down, I am inviting you to take a moment in nature and breathe in the fresh air.

-Take good care-

Annette
