Pondering life's unexpected gifts

Sitting in The Log Studio with "Kitten" on my lap, we are having our daily bonding time that I call "Whisker Wisdom". She reminds me to take some time to sit and enjoy her soft fur and purring sounds.

I had been reading a short story about volunteer plants, popping up in our gardens. Volunteer plants are germinated seeds that are given from plants or transported by birds and animals, they are given unexpectedly and at random. At Rooted it is a common occurrence. Similarly, as people and situations pop up in my life to offer support in mystical ways, so do the plants. Something in which I am taking notice of more often.

Sometimes the word "volunteer" doesn't seem appropriate as it has not been truly appreciated. Service is another word that seems overused and misunderstood. My new version of both of these terms, is kindness through love and compassion, maybe to ourselves first.

Our culture has evolved in many ways, but I feel the integrity of kindness is especially needed now. As we sometimes struggle to understand the world, I invite you to breathe and feel into what makes you "purr".

With hope and gratitude.

-Take good care-
